Tamil Nadu is one of the most spiritual destinations in South India. It’s known for its Dravidian-style Hindu temples. Meenakshi Amman Temple of Madurai and Ramanathaswamy Temple of Rameshwaram are two of the best examples of Dravidian architecture. They are carved to perfection!

The state is also home to the southernmost tip of India, Kanyakumari. Known as the site of ritual sunrises, sunsets are equally mesmerizing in Kanyakumari.

The capital city of Chennai (Madras) is famous for its beaches and colonial Fort St. George dating back to 1644.

Pondicherry or Puducherry or Pondy (fondly called by the locals) is a beautiful coastal town. French have left their mark on the town. With Its tree-lined streets, canary-yellow colored colonial villas, and chic boutiques, its French Quarter still breathes its French legacy.

Ooty is another high point of Tamil Nadu. It’s a beautiful resort town in the Western Ghats. It too has reminders of its colonial past.

Kodaikanal (princess of hill stations), Tiruchirappalli, Chidambaram, Mahabalipuram, Kanchipuram, Thanjavur, Hogenakkal Falls, and Kumbakonam some of the other beautiful places to visit in Tamil Nadu.
