Himachal Pradesh

Our Himachal Pradesh travel guide offers everything about the Land of the Gods, from the colossal mountain peaks, chasmic valleys, to the Buddhist Monasteries.

Himachal Pradesh, an abode of the Himalayas, is one of the most beautiful states in India. From the unique landscapes of Spiti to the peaceful hamlets of Kasol, Khajjiar, and Chitkul, to the touristy yet gorgeous towns of Shimla, Manali, Dalhousie, and Dharamshala, to the Paragliding Capital of India, Bir Billing, Himachal Pradesh is worlds away from the hustle and bustle of the daily grind.

Little villages perched on the mountains, rivers flowing gracefully and dauntlessly, waterfalls cascading down the hills; a traveler in you wouldn’t want to return.

The Dalai Lama calls McLeod Ganj his home, and thus you’d feel the strong Tibetan presence in the state. The Tibetan culture and heritage are mirrored in its Buddhist temples and monasteries. If you happen to visit Himachal in February, plan to attend the Losar Festival. It marks the beginning of the Tibetan New Year and is celebrated with great enthusiasm.

There are so many beautiful hiking trails in Himachal that you can’t resist the urge to hike a few of them to take in all the beauty the Himalayas have to offer.

The best time to visit Himachal Pradesh is from March to June.
