Over the years (and plenty of wrong turns), I’ve figured out what truly earns a spot in my suitcase and what doesn’t. These are my tried-and-tested travel essentials — the things that make journeys smoother, lighter, and a whole lot more enjoyable.
Travel Wallet / RFID Pouch
I never board a flight without this little lifesaver. Keeps my passport, cards, and currency all in one place and blocks sneaky scanners from stealing data. Mine’s from Travelon, my hubby swears by his HERO one, both have survived more airports, security checks, and coffee spills than we can count.
Duolingo
No, it won’t make you fluent overnight but it will save you when you need to say bathroom or thank you in a pinch. I swear by this app for brushing up before every trip. And it’s free.
Pocket WiFi / eSIM
Because getting lost is cute only in movies. I use Airalo eSIM or Travelwifi Hotspot, depending on where I go. Both keep me connected: no drama, no outrageous roaming bills.
