Montenegro remains one of our favorite countries in Europe. It has that charisma. It feels different from the rest of Europe.

From the fabled Black Lake (Crno Jezero), fascinating Tara River Canyon (the largest and deepest canyon in Europe) and Piva River Canyon, extraordinarily beautiful Bay of Kotor (Boka Bay), the breathtaking national parks of Durmitor and Lovcen, pretty Lake Skadar (largest lake in Southern Europe) to the UNESCO World Heritage old towns of Kotor and Budva, the tiny and idyllic village of Perast on Bay of Kotor, charming towns of Herceg Novi and Ulcinj – With so many beautiful places to visit in Montenegro, there’s never a dull moment!

Driving the challenging Kotor Serpentine, a 38-kilometer mountain road that connects the cities of Cetinje and Kotor to drink in the views from the top is one of the bucket list things to do in Montenegro.

Podgorica, the capital city isn’t one of the most exciting capitals in Europe but yes, deserves a visit for its intriguing mix of old and new.
