Phu Quoc with Family
During our recent 10-day trip to Vietnam, we were trying to finalize our itinerary.
Apart from including Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, we were contemplating our third destination. Traveling with kids and my mom, we wanted it to be relaxing. Thinking between Da Nang and Phu Quoc, we zeroed down on Pearl Island—Phu Quoc, which has been fast becoming a hot favorite among tourists.
With two days to spare, we set out on our first day to the biggest amusement park in Phu Quoc:Â Vinpearl Land.
Vinpearl Land Phu Quoc – Vinwonders Phu Quoc
As of 2021, there is a new look and name of Vinpearl Land Phu Quoc. Now called Vinwonders Phu Quoc, the park is divided into these zones – The Sea Shell, Adventure World, Mysterious Viking Village, European Street, Fantasy World, and Typhoon Waterworld.
An amusement park on the island is the best way to spend a day with kids. The park has so much to do from rides, a dolphin show, an aquarium, a mermaid show, and a full-blown water park. Yes, all in one.
It was tough for me to get my kids out in the evening. They were so tired that they slept right away on the bus from the park to the hotel.
There are many rides suitable for adults as well. So why not have equal fun with the kids and relive our childhood? My mom sat on a few rides with me. She was doing the rides after 50 years. Isn’t that amazing?
Waterpark
The massive waterpark is a treat for all, with so much to indulge in. There is a full-blown children’s water play area with splash pools, slides, and water canons that are treasured among the kids.
There are lounge chairs around the pool to sit and watch the kids have the time of their lives. There are shower areas and lockers available for rent.
For those seeking a thrill, there are huge serpentine water slides and funnels falling in the plunge pools.
And if the thrill is not your cup of tea, then laze around in your tube in the shallow and calm lazy river.
Carry your swimwear for the waterpark. Slippers are available that can be worn at the waterpark and returned in the baskets. Lockers are available for rent to keep your valuables. There are age and height restrictions for water rides as well.
Aquarium
The love for colorful aquatic life can be fulfilled at the large aquarium. As you enter the dome-shaped tank, the sharks, stingrays, and other fishes go past from all sides. It is fascinating for the kids to see the fishes zooming past their heads.
There are penguins and other reptiles and colorful fish displays that will dazzle you.
The unique part of the aquarium is the Mermaid show, which we saw for the first time. Divers dressed as mermaids were inside the fish tanks, dancing and performing an act.
Right next to the aquarium is the amphitheater for the dolphin show. The expert trainers play some fun games with the dolphins, using balls and rings as if they are playing with kids.
We sincerely hope that these aquatic animals are not subjected to cruelty, and we in no way want to promote it. We highly recommend watching the mermaid show and the dolphin show.
5D Theater
To experience and feel a cinematic masterpiece, 5D theater is the place to be. You might be showered with rain or snow, wind blowing, shaking seats. Kids love this magic feel.
Games Arcade
From video games to air hockey, the huge play area for kids has bouncy houses, slides, and ball pits. There’s a separate section for infants and older kids.
The game arcade inside the amusement park is included in the ticket. So when you want to beat the heat, this is the place to be.
Restaurants
There are five restaurants spread across the park, mainly serving Asian cuisine. In addition to restaurants, there are cafes for beverages. Very few vegetarian options are available, and outside food is not allowed.
