  1. Just a short bus ride (25) from Salzburg is the town of Anif. There are several lovely and affordable Pensions as well as the Hotel Friesacher with excellent restaurants, a charming town center, and friendly residents. This is my preference while I visit family and friends in and around Salzburg. Only 5 Km from Salzburg proper it offers a tranquil setting with phenomenal views of the Untersberg. The Tourist information center in Anif is extremely friendly and helpful.
