Heerstraße is the most photographed street in Bonn during spring. On both sides of the street, cherry blossom trees form an exquisite pink canopy as they bloom around mid-April.

The Hardangerfjord region is the most beautiful place in Norway to witness spring bloom. Imagine a lush fjord landscape with blossoming fruit trees, snow-clad mountain peaks in the background, and birds chirping over the sound of a gushing stream.
You can visit charming fjord villages like Lofthus, Kinsarvik, and Ulvik, which are known for fruit cultivation, especially apples, cherries, and apricots, which look other-worldly.

With the onset of spring, Copenhagen’s charming streets and urban parks exude a unique charm and energy. Vibrant blooms are all around.
The Copenhageners celebrate the colorful and warm season by picnicking in a park, walking along the harbor, sitting in a sidewalk cafe with a glass of beer or a cup of coffee, and gorging on street food.
You’d also want to do all that, of course, and also witness the Sakura trees in full bloom. The best places to see Copenhagen draped in its spring finery include the Copenhagen Canals, Bispebjerg Cemetery, Vestre Cemetery, the King’s Garden, Superkilen Park, and Tivoli Gardens.

Visiting during this time of year means you will be seeing the city during its shoulder season, when the weather is perfect (50-80°F) and the crowds are not as bad as during the summer’s high season.
With that said, because Rome is a super popular destination in general, booking tickets for attractions in advance is always a good idea.
No itinerary for Rome would be complete without a visit to the Colosseum, the Vatican, the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, and the Pantheon. While those are the most famous attractions in the Eternal City, don’t forget to also see the beautiful Piazza Navona, home to lots of street performers and clowns who love entertaining kids.
Take a stroll along the Lungotevere to see Castel Sant’Angelo and St. Peter’s Basilica reflecting beautifully in the water, and head over to the neighborhood of Trastevere, where you’ll find the most authentic restaurants in town.
Be sure to visit Villa Borghese, a beautiful park where you can relax after all the sightseeing. Lots of locals go there with their families, and it’s the perfect place to chill on the grass, play frisbee, or play hide-and-seek!
You can also rent bikes and 4-person quadricycles (perfect for family travelers) and ride around the gorgeous park.
When in Rome, you have to try the local specialty of pizza al taglio (pizza by the slice) — the best place to have it is in Pizzarium Bonci. You can also find the best tiramisù in town at Two Sizes Tiramisù and exquisite gelato at Come il Latte.

Tuscany, Italy

Tuscany is the perfect place to go on spring break. With endless vineyards dotted with charming villages and small towns, Tuscany has something for everyone.
The weather is usually pleasant, too, with nice sunny days. And it’s strawberry season! It is one of the best places to visit in Europe in May to enjoy the juicy strawberries.
Going on a road trip gives you the freedom to stop where and when you want while discovering places like Volterra and San Gimignano, with their many towers overlooking the surrounding wine country.
Other medieval towns worth a visit are Montepulciano, Cortona, and Monteriggioni.
Staying at a wine farm can be a fun activity where you can learn about the traditions of the region.
If you prefer to have a base, stay in Florence and take the train or bus on day trips to the nearby towns. Whether you stay there as a base or move around, you should at least explore Florence in two days.

Spring is the ideal time of year to visit Sicily with kids. The weather is usually sunny and mild without reaching the heat excesses that can make sightseeing hard in the summer.
The best part of Sicily to explore with kids is the eastern coast. Here, you have the famous localities of Taormina and Siracusa and a plethora of options for day trips and tours.
You are sure to enjoy the quiet streets of Taormina, its pretty Isola Bella (beach), and the museums and city center of Siracusa.
If you feel adventurous, climb Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. Visitors of all ages will love the area’s picture-perfect small villages, such as Marzamemi or, further South, the UNESCO-famous towns of Val di Noto.
If you love road trips, you can also explore farther afield and treat your kids to the incredible experience of a visit to the Valley of the Temples near Agrigento. You can also have fun at the stunning Riserva Dello Zingaro, an area with great beaches and seawater near Palermo.
Sicily is famous for its excellent foods. You can easily find kids’ favorites, such as pizza, as well as Sicilian specialties, such as cannoli and arancini.

Dubrovnik, Croatia
Dubrovnik, a gorgeous Croatian coastal town, doesn’t need any introduction. Although this famous city on the Dalmatian coast is an all-year-round destination, spring brings out the best of the town. Spring lasts from March through May here.
Why spring? Who wouldn’t want to enjoy the bright sunny days with the blue sea warm enough to swim without hordes of tourists? Plus, hotel rooms are cheaper, and all the attractions and tours are open to you. And, most importantly, otherwise, super touristy Dubrovnik in Croatia is a breeze to explore with kids during spring.
Apart from the beautiful beaches, charming islands, the Old Town, Game of Thrones tours, and lovely day trips, there are so many spring events like the Aklapela Vocal Groups Festival (April 5 to 7), Wine & Jazz Festival (May 25 to 28), and Annual Easter Fair (April) you can attend.
Out of all the things to do in Dubrovnik, Dubrovnik Cable Car up Srd Hill, gelato ice cream at Peppino’s in the Old Town, and playing at one of the many beaches in Dubrovnik are the ones that kids enjoy the most.

Nice is bathed by the Mediterranean Sea, which keeps the temperature pleasantly mild and guarantees sunny days.
Nice has an efficient international airport, so it is worth checking if you can find a direct flight to Nice.
However, nobody will blame you if you decide to spend a couple of days in Paris before heading to Nice. In this case, you can get to Nice from Paris by train, perhaps by changing trains to Marseille or Lyon.
There are many things to do and see in Nice, so consider spending a minimum of two days there to cover the main sights.
The list of fun things to do in Nice includes a stroll through the Old Town to admire its beautiful baroque architecture, a walk around the old port, or a hike up to the Colline du Chateau.

The city has some of the best and most interactive museums in the country. For example, the National History Museum and the Magritte Museum are absolute musts and a great backup plan if it happens to rain.
It is also home to the very cool Atomium, a remnant of the 1958 World Expo. To get the best views over the city, purchase a ticket and climb the Atomium.
Be sure to wander around the grand place and marvel at all the gold façades, and pop into Café Dandoy for a hot chocolate and a traditional snack (a waffle, what else!).

Nestled close to the Swiss Alps and only a short train ride from major Swiss cities, Lucerne is a lakeside city perfect for a spring vacation.
With a lovely lakeside setting, the city of Lucerne is a fabulous destination and combines the best of outdoor pursuits with a cosmopolitan vibe.
One of the top things to see and do in Lucerne is to take a day trip to Mount Pilatus. A short bus ride from the city center will take you to the Pilatus Gondola, which staggers up the mountain, affording stunning views along the way.
It is highly recommended that you hop off at each stop along the way to enjoy some hiking, picnics, or fun activities such as the 1350m Frakigaudi Toboggan ride.
For the kids, there is a great nature playground at Pilu or a ropes course at Frakmuntegg.

Costa del Sol is the ideal spring break destination for adventure-seeking travelers. Most people think of the coast as a beach and sun, but there is so much more to this area of Andalucia.
Though the coastline is blessed with astounding beaches and prime snorkeling destinations like Maro, there is also a lot of nature to be explored, and the mountains along the coast boast some of the most incredible views over the coastal towns and deep blue Mediterranean.
To mention a few, La Concha, Cruz de Juanar, and Minas de la Trinidad are all fun hikes. The latter features an intriguing cave system, so make sure you bring your headlamps.
Other fun activities are river hikes on a hot day, like those on Rio Chillar and Rio Guadalmina, both of which run through beautiful gorges.

Many of Athens’ attractions and activities are located outside, so you’ll want to pack plenty of layers and some comfortable shoes for your spring break.
Start your mornings early with visits to archaeological sites like the Acropolis and the Ancient Agora, allowing you to enjoy the sights and take some photographs before the midday crowds arrive.
Other attractions well worth a visit are the impressive Panathenaic Stadium, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Hellenic Children’s Museum, and the National Art Gallery.
When you’re not visiting historic sites and museums, you can wander around the streets of Plaka and Monastiraki, see the Changing of the Guard in front of the parliament building in Syntagma Square, and visit the little ‘island in the city’, Anafiotika.

Georgia is hands-down one of the best places to spend spring in Europe. Georgia’s coastal town of Batumi on the Black Sea is a great spring break destination.
This holiday summer getaway for locals sees fewer tourists in spring, while the average temperature ranges between 16 and 20C.
Backdropped with mountains and rich in history and culture, there are plenty of things to do in Batumi and around it for you to explore.
Often referred to as the Las Vegas of the Caucasus, international chain hotels, casinos, and skyscraper apartment buildings dominate Batumi’s skyline.
Start your day with a morning dip in the Black Sea, then wander through its streets, stroll down Miracle Park to see quirky statues and landmarks, and enjoy a nice evening walk on its 12 km-long Boulevard.
The main attraction of Batumi is its center, which features beautiful buildings that resemble the Parisian Belle Époque Era. Europe Square is home to an astronomical clock, a statue of Medea and Argonauts, and several other gorgeous architectural landmarks that are a relief to ostentatious modern structures on the seafront.
Another important landmark of Batumi is the Ali & Nino statue at Miracle Park. The symbol of eternal love was inspired by Kurban Said’s book of the same name.
Next to it, find a 135-meter-tall building that looks like a DNA molecule encircled by 33 letters of the Georgia alphabet.
Kids will love various attractions at the Park, such as renting a scooter or a bicycle, riding a Ferries Wheel, skateboarding, or taking a small cruise.
When in Batumi, one must-do thing is to try Adjarian Khachapuri, a boat-shaped cheese pie native to this region. You can also visit a fish market and enjoy grilled fish caught in the Black Sea.
